I have been talking a lot about how Spring is a time for rebirth and rejuvenation, but I thought this is also a good time to look back at our New Year’s resolutions. When the calendar gets to January 1st many of us are gung ho about what we want to do to better ourselves for the year ahead, but how many of us have forgotten about our goals? Forgetfulness is one of the hidden enemies of productivity, so I made a list of three things we can do to remind ourselves what we want to do.
What do you do to remind yourself of your goals?
1. Make your goal your password and change it on a regular basis
All of us have passwords we use every day. Whether it’s for your email or social networking sites make sure the password is something you can remember to work on every day. I have done this for a few months now and believe me it works. It reminds you every time you log in to keep striving for what you want.
2. Hide notes with your goals written on them and place them where you will see them everyday.
This is fun because sometime you forget about them and it’s a nice surprise when you see a friendly reminder of something positive. I placed one in my wallet, on my dresser, etc. The key is to place them at the most viewed spots everyday.
3. Put an alarm on your phone
Many of us have our phones with us at all times, so why not put a little reminder that goes off daily. Make sure the alarm is a sound you like because if not it could get really annoying.
