New Years Photo

Greetings Breezles,

January can feel like a fresh start for a lot of people, so many people decide it’s a great time to make a resolution for the new year.  I am usually not one to make resolutions,  but after going over my plans and goals  for 2015 I know it’s going to be a crazy year, so I felt like I should make a list of 5 things I would like to do to better myself for the year ahead.  The 5 things I am going to work on is below.

Did you make a resolution for 2015?

1.  Do more for the community

I try to give back to the community as much as I can throughout the year, but this year I am going to put a certain day aside every month to volunteer at one of my favorite charities.

2. Make more time for me

Between working a full time job, creating a website, being a wife, dog mother, daughter and friend I find it hard to have too much time for myself, so I am going to make sure to take at least 30 minutes a day to do something for me.  Whether it’s reading a book, taking a long bath, getting a massage or taking a walk I am going to make sure I find time to relax in a way I want to.

3. Get back into a fitness routine

Before I got married and bought a house I worked out at home almost every day.  I would put on one of my favorite tv shows and lift weight, do squats, etc.  After buying a home and moving in with Mike I haven’t found time to get back into my workout regime.  I still take Bella for walks and I do strength training exercises when I can, but I don’t feel as happy and fulfilled when I did them every day.  My goal is to wake up a little earlier and workout in the morning, so I am not distracted by other things at the end of the day.

4.  Experiment with different recipes in the kitchen

Mike and I love to cook together and we have gotten pretty good at our favorite recipes, so we eat them a lot.   I feel like we are in a cooking rut, so I am going to branch out and find new recipes we will like just as much as the old ones.

5. Spend more time with the women in my life

I read an article about how women are happier than men and when you spend time with women you tend to be happier in life.  I love Mike and we have tons of fun together, but I have found that when I get to be with my favorite girls I feel happier than before I spent time with them.  I am lucky to have some amazing women in my life and we are in the stage where so many great things are happening, so this year I am going to make sure I get to see them as much as I can.
