It is officially summertime, which means it is time to make sure we have all of the summer essentials in our closet. Three of my favorite online stores are helping us do that by having great sales on many of their warm weather pieces. A list of the stores as well as a few items on my Summer wardrobe wish list are below.
Are you invited to a graduation ceremony, but don’t know what to wear? Below is a little outfit inspiration inspired by the tassels on graduation caps for when you get to watch someone make the big walk to get their diploma.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of speaking with Liz Findlay, the owner of a local fitness apparel company called Albion. I can’t get enough of Albion and after speaking with Liz I love the brand even more! There are so many fun colors and prints that are easy to mix and match, it fits wonderfully and the quality is great. I get compliments on it wherever I go and I can’t wait to wear it when I get home from work. I would recommend it to everyone! Below is a little workout outfit inspiration with some cute pieces from Albion.
My good friend Heidi Gress throws an event every year called Art Meets Fashion. This year Art Meets Fashion premiered three collections. The first was by Davis Hong, an emerging, local designer and first recipient of the Fashion Entrepreneurial Mentorship program. The second was entitled Redefining Man and featured pieces from local boutiques. The final show was the US premiere of Nigerian designer Kinabuti.
The Art Meets Fashion Foundation is a non profit organization and chooses a different charity to give to each year. For 2015 the Art Meets Fashion Foundation launched a new entrepreneurial mentorship and global documentary program.
“The Art Meets Fashion foundation is committed to creating a sustainable artistic industry locally and documenting stories from across the globe from other organizations that are impacting their community through art and fashion. Through documentary work— photography, film making, narrative writing, visual art, dance and music, Art Meets Fashion aims to raise not only awareness and financial support for these organizations but also to secure Utah’s place in an ever growing global landscape.” -Heidi Gress
One of the main goals of the Art Meets Fashion Foundation is to expand globalization on a local and global level by creating jobs through fashion. I love the way the Art Meets Fashion Foundation is opening the minds of young people locally and globally and allowing them to see the possibilities which will help them rework their life into something positive. To be able to give someone a skill set and then give them a job is absolutely wonderful. Most of the time you hear about people learning a skill, but don’t have anything to do with it when they are done with their schooling. The Art Meets Fashion Foundation is now giving people the tools to be successful.
Art Meets Fashion is growing every year and I can’t wait to see what next year holds. Here is a short video about the event and if you are in Utah you won’t want to miss Art Meets Fashion 2016.
For many, Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial start to Summer. It is a time to relax, enjoy the warm weather and be with loved ones. Below is a little outfit inspiration for whatever you have planned for the long weekend ahead.
What do you have planned for Memorial Day Weekend?
Working in the yard can get messy and sometimes even dangerous, but when you are outfitted in the right rubber boots you can get through any task. Rubber boots are the perfect shoe for gardening because they are comfortable, keep your feet covered and when you are done you can easily hose them off. But you don’t have to restrict them to the yard. Wear them in the rain, while visiting your nearest garden center or when you are tromping through the mud at an outdoor concert. Below are 10 cute rubber boots to wear this Spring.
What type of shoe do you like to wear when gardening?
It can be hard to predict the weather during the Spring season. One day it can be warm and the next it can rain or gasp, even snow! Below is a little outfit inspiration for the next time you get to play in the rain.
